| How long will it take to setup my web site? |
Once we have received payment, you will have a fully functional web site setup within 2 hours during
business hours. Your web site will be completely functional within 24 hours
if your order is placed outside of business hours.
| Can I track how many people visited my web site? |
Absolutely. Not only can you track the number of visitors but you can view which
browser they used, what country they came from, what search engine words they used
to find you, and many other things that will help you make a more effective web site.
| How do I view my web statistics? |
By default web statistics are not enabled. To enable web statistics, simply contact
technical support.
| How do I view my log files? |
For each web site you host with us there will be a directory in the root directory called
"/Logs". This directory is only visible through FTP and can not be accessed through the
web server. This directory points you to the actual log files that are generated by the
web server and you have full read permission to the logs.
| How do I publish my web site on your server? |
We support FTP and Microsoft FrontPage
publishing. For help with Microsoft Picture It click here.
| Do I have unlimited access to update my web site? |
Yes. You can use FTP or Microsoft® FrontPage® anytime to update your site.
| How do I point another domain name at my web site? |
There are a number of things you will need and have to do, click
here for more details.
| Why is the server clock off by so many hours? |
To support all of our customers (including international) we have made the decision to set all of the
servers to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) with no daylight savings. This should make it much easier for you
to make your adjustments since you do not have to worry about our regional settings. If you would like
your web statistics to automatically make the adjustment for your time zone, please contact technical
support with the zone or adjustment you would like to make.

| Why can't I access my site after I have changed my name server information? |
You need to make absolutely sure the rest of the Internet sees your updated name server changes. To do
this go to the following site and enter
your domain name. If the listing comes back showing our servers as the name servers of record then
your problem is probably related to DNS caching. To test this, go to a command prompt on your system
and type ping www.yourdomainname and press enter. You should get back a
reply with some numbers, if those numbers do not start with "151.164" then you are being affected
by this problem. Basically your ISP has cached the old addresses in memory on their server and is
giving you this information instead of the actual information. Typically these caches are removed
daily but sometimes this can last for 7-10 days. The good news is that this affects only you and
the other customers of the ISP; the rest of the Internet can see your web site just fine. To prove
this, go to the following site and enter your domain and
your web site should come up.

| Why do I keep getting the Coming Soon page? |
You have not published a home page for your web site. When visitors enter just your web site name and
do not include a file, the web server must decide on what to send them. It looks in your directory
and then checks for the following files in this order:
- default.htm
- default.html
- default.asp
- default.php
- default.aspx
- index.htm
- index.html
- index.asp
- index.php
- index.shtm
- index.shtml
- home.htm
- home.html
- home.asp
If none of these files exist then it will see if the user has the permission to browse your web
directory. Since no anonymous user has this permission they would then be shown a permission denied
error.
To make your transition easier and to let your visitors know that you are a valid web site we created
a "Coming Soon" page in your web site. Once you upload your own content, your home page should take
precedence over ours automatically. You can safely delete our page by deleting the file "home.asp"
in your web root directory.

| Which operating system do you use for shared hosting? |
Although we support Unix, Linux, Windows NT/2000 for our dedicated servers, we only use Windows NT/2000
for our shared platform. The reason we have chosen this operating system is because it provides our
customers with the large array of features they need to stay competitive. Windows NT has proven to be
a very stable operating system running months on end without ever requiring a reboot. It has been shown
to be a very web server as well; performing better than many web servers on other platforms including
the Apache and Unix configurations.
Windows NT/2000 also provides you with native COM interface allowing you to expand your web applications
much further than traditional CGI applications. It allows us to also support Unix equivalents like
Perl and sendmail making your applications truly cross-platform. Quite simply Windows NT/2000 is
better for our customers and therefore that is what we use.
| Why do I keep getting the message "Directory Listing Denied" error? |
This error is caused by not having a home page. When we first setup your web site we placed a file
called home.asp in your root directory. If you delete this file and then do not place your own
home page in your directory then this error will occur. To see a list of valid home pages go
here.

| How do I find out how much disk space I have used? |
You can contact our technical support and we can provide this information for you free of charge. It
should be noted that we will never charge you for additional disk space without at least a one month
notification. We do not like to surprise any of customers and since we do not have an automated way
for you to review this information it seems only fair that we do not charge you if you accidently
exceed your allotment.
| How do I view how much bandwidth I am using? |
You may view your daily bandwidth totals by using the web statistics provided free with your
account. Simply log into your web statistics and then click on the name of the month you would like
to review. In the right hand list of reports choose Accesses by Day report.
