If you login into the FTP server you will notice a directory called SSL in
your root folder, this directory is not visible with the Microsoft® FrontPage® editor.
The SSL directory is a virtual directory in FTP that points to a physical
directory on a different server.
The shared SSL server works like this:
You will design your web pages as normal on your web site and then when you need a
secured connection you will place a link to https://secure.chambergates.com/yourdir/yourpage.html.
When you do this the user will be transferred to the secure server to complete their
transactions. You will then be able to redirect them back to your site with a link to your
web site.
Since this is a completely different server all image files you use will have to be replicated
and there is no way to preserve ASP session variables between two servers. The Microsoft FrontPage editor
really has no facility to make any of this transparent and you will have to use FTP to place files on the
secured server. You can however use the Microsoft FrontPage editor to design your site and then upload
this to the secure server.
